Arnault Skornicki
Associate Professor in Political Science at the University of Paris Nanterre
Research interests :
A specialist in social history of political ideas, his first studies focused on the sociogenesis of the political economy in the Enlightenment. While continuing his research on this topic, his current project focuses on the history of the multiple figures of the “roi citoyen” or “patriot” (18th-19th centuries), particularly between the United Kingdom and France. These figures contributed to the renewal of conceptions of sovereignty and raise the question of the “republican monarchy”. His two other fields of research deal methodological reflection in intellectual history on the one hand, and the theory of the State on the other, particularly in Michel Foucault’s thought.
About
Arnault Skornicki is an Associate Professor in Political Science at the University of Paris Nanterre and a visiting researcher at the Maison française d’Oxford for the academic year 2019-2020. A member of the ISP (UMR 7220), he is on CNRS sabbatical during the first semester.
